Uploading documents via FTPS
Created on 2016-10-11 21:04:46; Last updated on 2020-10-29 21:00:07
It is possible to upload invoices to an FTPS server and have them picked up from there automatically. An FTPS connection provides file system upload. Tradeshift provides a free account to a server where you can upload your invoices in a variety of formats.
In order to upload via FTPS, you have to activate our FTPS Uploader App on your Tradeshift account.
What is FTPS?
FTPS (also known as FTP Secure and FTP-SSL) is an extension to the commonly used File Transfer Protocol (FTP) that adds support for the Transport Layer Security (TLS) and the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) cryptographic protocols. FTPS should not be confused with the SSH File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), an incompatible secure file transfer subsystem for the Secure Shell (SSH) protocol. It is also different from Secure FTP, the practice of tunneling FTP through an SSH connection.
To connect to an FTPS server you have to use a FTP client software or a software which has a built-in FTP client (such as MS Access, etc). You can find a list of FTP client softwares by navigating to the following link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FTP_clients
